Product Groups
Product groups provide an additional dimension to organize products beyond categories. It allows you to tag products with group labels for filtering, reporting, and bulk operations.
What is Product Grouping?
Grouping is a simple tagging mechanism that lets you bundle products across different categories. While categories define where a product belongs structurally, groups let you create cross-category collections for business purposes.
Examples of Product Groups:
| Group Name | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Summer Collection | Seasonal promotion |
| Fast Moving Items | Inventory planning |
| Premium Products | Pricing strategy |
| Clearance Stock | Dead stock management |
| Export Approved | Compliance filtering |
A product can belong to multiple groups. For example, a product could be tagged as "Summer Collection" + "Fast Moving Items" + "Premium Products" simultaneously.
How to Create and Assign Groups

How It Works with Categories and Classification
| Concept | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Categories | Structural hierarchy | Electronics → Computers → Laptops |
| Groups | Cross-category bundling | "Summer Collection", "Fast Moving" |
| Classification | Filtering dimension | A Class, Outsourced |
Together, these three concepts let you organize products structurally (categories), bundle them across categories (groups), and filter them by business attributes (classification) for better product management.
