Finished Goods

Finished Goods are completed products that are ready for sale, delivery, or distribution. In Ultro ERP finished goods usually have a Bill of Materials (BOM) and are treated as sellable inventory on the balance sheet.

Key characteristics

  • Tracked as sellable stock with full valuation and costing.
  • Often assembled from raw materials and semi finished goods via manufacturing processes.
  • Subject to picking, packing and delivery workflows; directly involved in invoicing and revenue posting.

Detailed workflow — how to manage Finished Goods in Ultro ERP

  1. Viewing finished products
  • Navigate to Products → Finished Goods to see the list of products categorized as finished goods.
  • Use the list view filters (columns, saved searches, and search bar) to narrow results by SKU, product group, warehouse or status.
  • Click any row to open the product form and review details (description, default UOM, pricing, stock across warehouses, and associated BOMs).
  1. Creating a finished product
  • Click Add New on the Finished Goods page.
  • Fill required fields: Product Name, SKU/Code, Product Type (Finished Goods), Unit of Measure, Default Warehouse, and Sales/Cost Accounts.
  • If the product is manufactured, attach the Production BOM and the default Routing so the manufacturing module knows what materials and steps to consume.
  • Set pricing and tax details if the product is sold directly.
  1. Linking manufacturing and inventory
  • Attach or create a BOM on the product record to define the materials and quantities used to produce the finished good.
  • Define routings/operations when work centres or specific processes are needed.
  • When a production order completes, Ultro ERP will post finished product quantities to the specified warehouse and consume component stock automatically.
  1. Stock management and adjustments
  • Use stock moves and stock adjustments to correct inventory levels for finished goods.
  • Monitor stock using stock-on-hand reports and location-wise availability to ensure sales and production needs are met.
  • Configure reorder rules and safety stock levels on finished products when applicable (e.g., make-to-stock scenarios).
  1. Sales and fulfillment
  • Add finished goods to quotations or sales orders; shipping and delivery workflows will reserve and pick stock as required.
  • Invoicing posts revenue and moves the product value from inventory to cost-of-goods-sold based on the configured costing method.
  1. Quality & compliance
  • Attach quality checks or inspections to production steps or to finished goods as required by your quality processes.
  • Record lot/serial numbers if traceability is needed; use lot tracking on product records so returned or defective items can be traced.
  1. Reporting & best practices
  • Use product-wise inventory valuation, turnover reports and ageing to monitor performance for finished goods.
  • Keep descriptions and categorization consistent so the product catalogue is easy to search and report on.

Tip: Treat finished goods as primary saleable SKUs — ensure BOM links, correct costing, and warehouse locations are configured so Ultro ERP workflows (manufacturing → stock → sales) operate smoothly.
